If you must cover with something there is a product called granite transformations they install another countertop right over top of your granite with recycled granite or glass many colours to choose from its expensive thought so not really economical that way and its permanent because you have to stick glue or screw it into granite to safety. I d change up other elements in your space make the black granite work. Be sure to look for sealer with regular impregnators. Tackle the countertop without replacing it.

Apply a small amount of baby oil to a clean white rag. Rub it over the lighter spot or a portion thereof. That way at least your outdated granite colors won t be fighting with the floor or the walls. You may be able to change the look of your countertop somewhat by sealing it.

You can use granite counter top sealer to change the color of the granite but there are sealers that will not change the color of your granite if you do not want it changed. Food and liquids left to sit too long can stain the granite and change its color especially if. If the oil darkens the counter and you like the look use stone color enhancer to make it permanent. This will immediately absorb into the granite not having an effect on the color. Granite is natural stone and best not painted. However granite is porous. If your countertops are not properly sealed the oil may stain.
